Brat Generator is a free, browser-based tool for creating Brat-style cover art, text images, and captions inspired by the bold lowercase serif look of the original Brat album cover. Everything runs directly in your browser — there is no account, no upload of your data to a server for processing, and no cost to use it.
What we built
The site started as a single tool: type a word or phrase, pick a background and text color, and download a finished image. Since then we have expanded it into a small family of tools built on the same engine — a text generator for longer phrases, an album-cover-formatted version, a font-style generator, preset color variants, and a meme-caption-focused version — so whatever you are making, there is a version of the tool tuned for it.
Why it exists
The Brat aesthetic became a genuine cultural moment, and a lot of the tools that popped up around it were cluttered with intrusive ads, required signups, or buried the actual generator behind unnecessary steps. We built Brat Generator to be the opposite of that: fast, free, and focused entirely on the one thing people actually came for — the image.
How it works
The generator renders your text onto a canvas element directly in your browser using JavaScript — nothing is uploaded to a server to produce the image. When you click download, the canvas is exported as a PNG file straight to your device.
